Darkroom Demons

I ran across a website the other day and found myself stuck on it for a while. These dudes (Tyler Curtis and Matt Reeves, Darkroom Demons) really know how to capture the event.

I can't tell you how boring it is to view photos of an event where all the photographer did was go around the room taking posed shots. Every shot, frame, pose looks the same as the one before (you know, the one where the girl slightly turns her body, tilting her head and placing her hand on her hip to show off those curves). These photographers actually get paid for that! Granted yes, we do need some of those shots mixed in but how about adding some character, texture or emotion to make them  more interesting or getting those candid shots that we all love. Make me jealous for missing out on a great night.

Don't get me wrong, nightclub photography is not as easy as it looks. One has to deal with crowded rooms, little to no lighting and annoying drunks but some thought would be appreciated. It takes more than just pointing and shooting.
